Try These Goat Cheese Crostini with a Crisp Virginia White

From CLARE TURNER of Virginia Chutney Co.: Spring is finally making its long-anticipated arrival. Here’s a quick and easy preparation to accompany your evening glass of wine on the deck.

GOAT CHEESE CROSTINI

1 small baguette

1 six oz. log of soft goat cheese

olive oil

arugula

Spicy Plum Chutney

 

Fire up the grill, or preheat the oven to 400. Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices and brush with a bit of olive oil. Toast until golden brown.

Once the baguette slices have cooled, spread each slice with one tablespoon of the goat cheese, 3 or 4 arugula leaves, and 2 teaspoons of VA Chutney Co.’s Spicy Plum Chutney.

A crisp, refreshing Seyval Blanc, such as that of Hume Vineyards, or perhaps a spicy Traminette from Narmada complete the picture!
