Sensory Training for Commercial Winemakers

The Sensory Training for Commercial Winemakers program will begin again in November. This agenda is offered to Virginia winemakers and Virginia commercial winery owners only. The program curriculum, derived from Zoecklein et al 2005, has been divided into sensory exercises. Each Virginia commercial winery will be allowed to enroll two persons for sensory training. No more than two per winery will be permitted. Sessions will begin promptly at 1:00 PM.

The program is designed for Virginia winemakers. The series is not designed for tasting room staff and those not directly involved in winemaking. Winemakers Sensory Training has been funded by a grant from the Virginia Wine Board.

Registration is required even if you attended previous sessions. Only those registered will be allowed to attend. Register by sending an email note to Vicki Keith at vkeith@vt.edu. In the subject line type Fall 2011 Sensory. In the text include: your name, your winery name, your region (as indicated by the Virginia Wineries Guide).
