Keswick and Barboursville support PBS

Keswick Vineyards supports public television.

The state giveth, and sometimes the state taketh away…Keswick Vineyards and Barboursville Vineyards have teamed up with author Richard Leahy to help Roanoke PBS make up for the $425,000 budget reduction public television will face in fiscal 2013.

For $125 per person you can take a bus tour – round-trip from Roanoke – on Saturday, August 11th, to two leading wineries of the Monticello AVA [note we did manage to get new signage for the appellation].

Richard Leahy hops on in Charlottesville to act as tour guide as you make your way up Highway 29. You can purchase his new book, Beyond Jefferson’s Vines, have him autograph it and support PBS all at the same time. He’s pledged 10% of the proceeds to PBS Blue Ridge.

You’ll lunch at Barboursville Vineyards, and tour and taste with Luca Paschina, our favorite Italian winemaker.

Then proceed to Keswick Vineyards for more touring and tasting with our favorite South African winemaker, Stephen Barnard.

Even with all this cosmopolitanism going on, can we even conceive of life without great PBS programing? More info, or to make a donation: (866) 624-8366.
